Invites you to volunteer at our 27th Annual Christmas Dinner!
Christmas Dinner is back! Potluck in the Park will be hosting its annual Christmas Day dinner under the big tent in the parking lot across the street from the Portland Art Museum. We are still partnering with the Art Museum and will be assembling the take-out meal in their building.
To make it a success, we need YOU!
There's plenty to be done, both on prep day (Christmas Eve, Tuesday the 24th) and the day of the meal itself, the 25th! We have divided the work into shifts - each of which has its own requirements, sign up, start time, and duration. They are ALL based at the Portland Art Museum and adjacent parking lots (exact location details will be emailed to you after you sign up for a shift).
All volunteers ages 5 and up must be fully vaccinated (2 weeks past 2nd shot) and will be required to show proof of vaccination.
Masks will also be required indoors and outdoors.
When signing up for a volunteer shift, please only choose one day, one shift.
Please read everything below carefully BEFORE signing up for a shift.
How to volunteer:
Since this is such a large event, tasks for days (Dec 23rd, 24th and 25th) have been broken up into a number of shifts. You will not know exactly what tasks you will be assigned to during your chosen shift until you arrive for check in.
For instance, during the Meal Service shift on Christmas Day, your tasks may include:

Serving take-out food to our guests

Greeting guests and monitoring traffic flow

Assisting our guests with disabilities
-
Bussing tables and cleanup
-
and more... the list is a long one!
When you arrive...
Please be on time, but not too early, about 10 minutes before your shift starts.
Please bring warm clothing and dress for the weather, most of our shifts this year will be outside. Be prepared to be outside for your entire shift. Coat check facilities will be available to store extra items during your shift.
Tent Raising Day - Thursday, December 23rd
Help get the tent up before the event.
