Have Experience with Taxes? Help Your Community This Season! (age 18+) Referral
Do you have tax experience? You can help provide our low-income families an important step towards economic security!
Through considerable volunteer support El Programa Hispano Catolico offers free tax preparation to the low-income, primarily Latino community, last season helping return over $2 million in refunds to more than 1,000 taxpayers. In addition to securing these much-needed refunds this service gives vulnerable taxpayers a trustworthy, culturally-specific alternative to unlicensed tax preparers and to paying to prepare their basic tax returns.
We are currently seeking volunteers with experience in taxes (preferably EA, CPA, RTRP, LTP or tax attorney) to help as trained quality reviewers, a vital role in the success of our program. We ask for 5 volunteer hours per week during tax season (January 24th to April 17th). Spanish is not required and Continuing Education (CE) credit is available for your volunteer service hours.
Prospective volunteers may contact our Site Coordinator by phone or e-mail: Karen Keating, (503) 489-6834 / email@example.com. Please feel free to contact her with any questions or interest you have, she will be happy to provide you with more information.
Orientations will be held throughout November and December to meet and see if our program will be a good match for you. We hope to hear from you soon!
