Have Experience with Taxes? Help Your Community This Season! (age 18+) Referral
Do you have tax experience? You can help provide our low-income Latino families an important step towards economic security!
Through considerable volunteer support and in partnership with the IRS El Programa Hispano Católico provides IRS-certified basic tax preparation to the low-income Latino community free of charge. Last season our volunteers helped over 1,000 taxpayers secure more than $2 million in refunds and saved preparation fees - with your help we can continue this success! By volunteering just four hours per week during tax season as a trained Quality Reviewer you can provide a vital service and an important step towards economic security to those most in need.
Quality Reviewers ensure high-quality, accurate return preparation and are essential to supporting the capacity and success of our program. Spanish is helpful but not required. Continuing Education (CE) credit is available. Trainings begin December 29th, volunteer service January 23rd. Evening and weekend volunteer shifts available. Since 1982, El Programa Hispano Catolico has provided a wide array of social services to low-income Latinos in the Portland metro area.
El Programa Hispano Catolico's mission is threefold:
